Faculty Profile |
|
|
The Faculty of Engineering was
established on 30 December 1973;
study was initiated during the
academic year 1974-1975. The current
number of students in the Faculty is
3580.
The main aim of the faculty is to
provide the country with the
technical manpower which is able to
transfer up-to-date technology to be
used in the economic, social, and
scientific development of the
country.
The faculty is one of the most
important faculties of the
University of Garyounis as it is
known by its distinguished
scientific level. Everyone in the
faculty is working hard to develop
this scientific establishment in
order for it to be one of the
internationally famous faculties.
It is no wonder that most of the
staff of the faculty graduated from
various international universities
famous for their scientific
credibility. They do their best to
transfer what they have learnt in
order to develop this faculty. All
efforts are utilized to establish an
appropriate scientific atmosphere
for staff members. The Faculty also
encourages scientific research and
endeavors to develop higher studies.
In addition, one of its priorities
is to provide students with all
possible means in order to prepare
them to take their responsibilities
to serve their society in all
sectors. Thus, study in the faculty
is twofold: theoretical and
practical. The practical courses are
performed in the labs of the
scientific departments. |
