M.SC. PROGRAMS IN MATHEMATICS
The Department provides a two-year programme of studies leads to the degree of Master of Science (M.SC.) in Mathematics. The minimum requirements needed is 30 credit hours distributed as follows: |

Compulsory courses |

5 compulsory 3-credit courses |

Compulsory courses aim to build up the necessary background required for students to complete this programme. They are distributed over the first two semesters. |

Elective courses |
(Cr.s 9) |

3 elective 3-credit courses |
|
Elective courses are specified and offered mainly to meet the need of students specialising in certain fields. They are given in the third semester. Dissertation aims usually to deepen the knowledge of a student in one area and to develop student’s skill and independence to carry out mathematical research. |

The student can start the Thesis after finishing the compulsory and the Optional courses with the help of the Thesis supervisor.
The supervisor must be at least Assistant Prof, and the Thesis writing language is Arabic or English with a summary in Arabic. |
